You can use CATCH UP! entirely by messaging it on WhatsApp, the same way you'd message a friend. The website is there when you'd rather see everything laid out.

Save the CATCH UP! number, +91 90562 67565, then say what's happening. You don't need to learn any commands or get the words right.

Saying you're free now

• "I'm free tonight"
• "Free for a coffee"
• "Nothing on this evening, in Berlin"

This switches your porch light on for two hours, then it quietly goes out. Only your crew see it.

Saying you'll be somewhere later

• "I'll be in Manila 17th to 21st, free most evenings"
• "Landing in Mumbai Friday, free after 7"
• "In London in March, dates soft"

Anything in the future becomes an upcoming plan, never a live "I'm free right now". The crew who can see that city hear about it, and can save the dates to their own calendar — nothing is ever added to anyone's calendar for them.

Asking who's around

• "Who's free right now?"
• "Who's around Delhi tonight?"
• "Anyone in Bangalore this weekend?"
• "Who will I overlap with in Manila?"

You only see who's in a city if your own city visibility is switched on for it. That's deliberate: discovery is reciprocal, and there is no directory of strangers.

Getting in touch with one person

• "Connect me with Rahul"
• "Ask Sarah if she wants to catch up"

CATCH UP! asks them for you. If they say yes, the two of you get a chat — one to one, never a group. If they don't answer, nothing happens and you aren't told anything about them.

Changing your mind

• "Actually make that Saturday"
• "Cancel my Manila plan"
• "I'm not free anymore"

Corrections work mid-conversation. When you change or cancel a trip, any reminders your crew were going to get are cancelled with it.

Checking in on yourself

• "Am I live?"
• "What are my plans?"
• "Any requests for me?"

What it will never do

• Share anyone's phone number, address, or where they are — including yours. If you ask for someone's number, it will offer to ask them instead.
• Tell you about anyone who isn't in your crew.
• Make something up. If an authorised look-up returns nothing, it says so.
• Message anyone on your behalf without asking you first.
• Reply to a number it doesn't recognise with anything other than a sign-in link.

If the number isn't recognised

Messages from a number that isn't on a CATCH UP! profile get one reply: a link to sign in. Add your number to your profile and the conversation works from then on.

Your data on WhatsApp

Messages you send travel through WhatsApp, so WhatsApp's own privacy terms apply to them in transit. On our side we keep a short record of each message, what it was understood as, and what we did — so problems can be investigated and so a repeated delivery isn't acted on twice. This is covered by our Privacy Policy and retention schedule.

Everything you do by message runs through the same rules as the website: 18+ only, mutual crew consent, reciprocal city visibility, no contact details before both people agree, and blocks honoured immediately.
